Things to do ...

This includes underwater photographs

Shark cage diving typically involves diving in heavy metal cages in the cold waters of the western cape, specifically targeting the large great white sharks that inhabit that region.

However in the much warmer waters of Kwa-Zulu Natal, different species of shark can be found, like Tiger Sharks and Blacktip sharks. Because these species are smaller than the Great White Shark and their main diet consists of small schooling fish, a much lighter "soft" shark cage can be used. There is even the option of getting out of the shark cage for a true shark interactive and unforgettable cage shark diving experience.

This is truly an exciting once in a lifetime experience - bond with family, friends or colleagues as you get close up to one of South Africa's big marine predators.

Price includes a 30 minute dive, talks on sharknets, up to 40 underwater photos. An experience of a lifetime!

Annual Sardine Run ...

The annual sardine run, during the winter months, is a natural phenomenon along the South Coast. Large shoals of sardine beach from Port Edward to Hibberdene. Shad, game fish, dolphins and shark join in the feeding frenzy, bringing life to the oceans. Play a game of pool at the local social club, enter the competition when it's running, normally Sundays.

Just before Hibberdene on the South Coast, is the small village of Mtwalume. Where the Mtwalume River meets the sea it has created a beautiful lagoon. Further up he river are the Mtwalume Falls. This small village has tremendous fishing, spear-fishing and bird-watching spots.

Our beaches are quiet and relaxing for all. There is an abundance of marine life for both fishermen and divers. The main beach has a tidal pool. If you're not into going beneath the water, simply hop around the beautiful rocks at spring tide, and view fish, anenomes, tube-worms and a host of marine species.
